Armand Nicolet LS8 Skeleton Manual Winding LE 9620S-GL-P713GR2
Armand Nicolet have a history dating back to 1875, creating complicated pocket watches including complete calendars, monopusher chronographs, repeaters and the like. They continued on through the Quartz crisis, and during that period were known for their supply of finely finished movements to other manufacturers.
The evidence of this history of finishing can be seen in this LS8 Skeleton. Sitting inside the beautifully proportioned 42mm steel case lies a skeletonized manual wind movement known as the AN 0711S, which is created by modifying an original UT 600 calibre base dating back to 1957. It’s a stunning movement with a high level of decoration.
The outer track features applied markers in rose gold tone, with matching hands., with a large sub-seconds at 6. Watching the mainspring coil up as it’s wound, and the balance beating away is mesmerizing. It’s finished off with a Armand Nicolet ‘gator strap with steel pin buckle.
This particular piece presents in TZ ‘Good’ condition. Has been worn regularly, and shows scuffs and scratches commensurate with that use. Case sides show numerous pin dents. No large dings/nicks etc. AR coating shows some small marks. Please see images for full condition details.
Strap remains very usable, and the pin buckle shows desk dive marks.
No known service history. Currently keeping time at around +20 seconds a day at 300+ degrees of amplitude.
Comes with outer box, inner box, technical booklet, LE papers, instruction manual and hang tag.
A great option to enter into the world of skeletonized watches with a beautiful vintage movement to look at. Amazing value.
